A fabulous, chatty, funny, energetic, little girl in my life is turning six. Let’s call her Cousin Giggly. I went looking for a book or two for her and wondered what she already had on her shelf. And what might be new or different for her. From Twitter, (yes, every once in a while, Twitter has practical uses!), I knew about We Need Diverse Books. Their website yielded so many great book ideas, I wanted to share some of them with you. I ordered my cousin a well-reviewed book called “Jingle Dancer,” about a young Muscogee girl in Oklahoma. I think my cousin is going to love it. A six year old in your life might like it, too.
